You have always wanted a painting of your beloved pet, but couldn't afford one.
Now you can -- at a most affordable price!
Our pets bring so much love and happiness, smiles and joy, laughter and companionship into our lives. I have made it my mission to capture those feelings in unique pet portraits that are timeless and meaningful. Tell me about the special place your pet has in your heart, and let's begin the "MyPet" image journey together.
As a person who has always loved art and photography, I was fortunate to discover later in life that I had a flair for a new form of creative expression, one enabled by modern technology. Combining my computer-based graphic design skills with an eye for color, balance and composition, I create colorful and unique art renditions that use the photographs of your dogs and cats as a starting point.
It all began a little over twenty years ago while on trips to Colorado I was smitten with the seasonal beauty of the Aspen trees and took a ton of photographs. But when I got home from the trips, I felt that although the photos were lovely, they didn't capture the same presence and spirit that I felt when I was actually there. I felt that a watercolor or an oil painting would be a more permanent means of holding on to those feelings. However, with no training in those disciplines, I decided to explore the possibilities of transforming my photographs using my graphic design tools. The more I explored, the more enamored I became with this approach. So I began to apply the same methods to my own pet photos, of which I had plenty (I'm sure you can relate). Friends began to comment on how much they looked like paintings when they saw them matted and framed on my walls, so soon my creative hobby became a business - MyPet Image Photography.
Starting in 2016, I began accepting photographs of pets taken by my clients instead of taking them myself. This approach allowed me to price the service more affordably for pet owners while letting me focus on the creative and graphic part of the process which has become the heart of my creative skills.
The work I create from your photographs (of which I request several poses if available) has the look and feel of a painting made using traditional media, but is actually digitally created to make them significantly more affordable than commissioning an oil or watercolor portrait.
You will want to mat and frame these "paintings" to be kept among your other family photos and artwork. They also make great gifts for anyone who had had a close relationship with your pet and for those who may no longer live at home and want a special remembrance of their pet.
Many clients are requesting a forever memorialization of their beloved dog or cat which is no longer with them.
I reside in Atlanta. I have a lovely adult daughter and two fabulous pets, my beloved Sheltie and tuxedo kitty (see photo below).* My interests include a love of classical music, opera, fine art and watching baseball and football. I am also skilled in interior design.

Mimi
*Since the creation of this website, my beloved kitty, Mimi, pictured above with Abby, passed over the rainbow. I missed not having a kitty to love so much that I adopted a rescue-- see below, who I named Willow. She is a fabulous kitty and has a new place in my heart.
